This structure, transformed into a home in the late 1800s, stands proudly amidst the lush fields and croftlands where I roamed as a child with my faithful dog. Cornwall’s rich mining heritage captivated my imagination, and I spent countless hours exploring the remnants of mine stacks, marveling at the stories they held. As a proud Cornishman, I carry this heritage close to my heart, feeling a deep connection to the land and its history.

Influences that Shaped Me

My upbringing was profoundly shaped by strong influences. My father, a dedicated RAF member, instilled values of integrity, discipline, and respect. He shared stories of camaraderie and honor, teaching me that true strength lies in standing up for what is right. My mother, a devout Christian, created a warm, loving home. Evenings were filled with soothing hymns from the radio, wrapping us in peace. She took me to Sunday school, where I learned the importance of faith, compassion, and community—lessons that laid a strong foundation for my character.

Finding Solace in Nature and Adventure

As a young man, I found solace in Cornwall’s natural beauty. I cherished fishing off the rugged coastline, where the rhythmic sound of waves brought tranquility. Yet, I craved adventure. The thrill of motorbiking—tearing through off-road trails or cruising coastal paths—was intoxicating. There’s nothing quite like the freedom of a long ride along the sea, the wind in my hair, followed by lunch at a quaint country pub filled with laughter and shared stories.

The Dark Chapter

Beneath this idyllic life lay a darker chapter that inspired my book, Walkaway. As I embarked on building our family home, I encountered a web of lies and deceit that threatened everything I held dear. What began as a dream quickly morphed into a nightmare, surrounded by negativity and toxic influences that seeped into our lives.

The environment became hostile, filled with betrayal and manipulation. I grappled with the painful realization that the very people I trusted were leading me astray. This awakening forced me to confront uncomfortable truths about my surroundings and their impact on my family. As a husband and father, I felt an overwhelming responsibility to protect my wife and two young children from the darkness looming over us.

Making the Difficult Decision

In this moment of clarity, I made the difficult decision to walk away. Uprooting my family from the familiar was not easy, but it was necessary. True strength lies not just in enduring hardship but in recognizing when to let go of what harms us. Walkaway reflects this journey of resilience—a testament to the power of choice and the courage to forge a new path.

Through the pages of my book, I share not only my story but also the universal struggles many face when navigating toxic relationships and environments. I want others to understand that it’s possible to reclaim one’s life, to find the courage to seek the truth, and to pursue a life filled with light and positivity. My hope is that by sharing my experiences, I can inspire others to recognize their worth and have the strength to walk away from what no longer serves them.

An Invitation for Change

In the end, Walkaway is not just a reflection of my personal journey; it’s an invitation for others to embark on their own. It’s a call to embrace change, seek beauty in life, and cultivate a future aligned with our deepest values and aspirations. Through resilience and the courage to let go, we can all find our way to a brighter path.

My Roots in Cornwall I was born in an old money-counting building in Redruth, a town once thriving

[1
20
post-296","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-book-news","tag-walkaway
["GET
